fall fashions
for some reason i really love the nicole farhi fall collection. there’s nothing really spectacular of stunning about it- but every look has a cozy yet polished feel. seems just perfect for this fall…

floor-plans
it’s taken a while for the re-dec project to get up to speed–but we’re starting to look pretty good. this is the new floor plan:
the big idea is to create 2 new spaces- the work space and the TV/living space. We’ve drawn inspiration from Ikea:
we’re pretty excited about the EXPEDIT shelf/desk combo…we may have been thinking about it for a while… we also have a plan to move all of our books out into the living room bookshelves-now we have them all in our rooms-the idea is that having books in the living room will make us look more interesting–who wouldn’t be impressed that we own the full Harry Potter Series and Twilight Saga…hmmm?
splurging for a rainy day
boots! I finally bought a pretty pair of Hunter boots–after having to replace my cheap wellies each year I gave in and ordered a pair of the good ones. I had some initial doubts about the color I picked (VIOLET) but then I threw together this inspiration board and now I’m really just excited for them to arrive…

things to love
fall fashion week is in full swing- and as usual, i’m a little depressed about it. don’t get me wrong, i love seeing the new styles, colors and ideas, i love the excitement–but it is such a buzz kill to realize what we have to live though before spring. oh, dark-depressing-winter. SO i am focusing on now. fall. things that are exciting me about THIS season…
from Panton’s fall color report i’m loving Purple Heart and Rapture Rose. especially paired with grey and bright blue (which were spring 09 colors…so what? i can live in the past a little, right?) also loving menswear inspired looks paired with girly-flirty accessories. but i think, above all, i’m loving purple.

i am so in love with this popcorn bar party from the latest issue of Utterly Engaged. such a fun idea, perfect for New Year’s Eve or maybe an Oscar party!
